- 1 cup sourdough starter
- 1 cup warm water
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup strawberries, hulled and chopped
- 1 tablespoon sugar (optional)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (optional)
Instructions
- Combine the sourdough starter with the warm water until well combined.
- Incorporate the flour and salt, stirring until a shaggy dough forms.
- Fold in the chopped strawberries using a bench scraper.
- First rise: Let the dough rest for about 30 minutes under a kitchen towel.
- Knead the dough for approximately 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Second rise: Transfer the dough to a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) about 30 minutes before baking.
- Shape the loaf and let it rise again for about 30 minutes.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
For best flavor, use ripe strawberries. Can substitute with raspberries or blueberries.
