Description

Delightful pull-apart garlic bread using sourdough discard, featuring rich flavors and gooey mozzarella.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups sourdough discard
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Combine sourdough discard, all-purpose flour, salt, sugar, and garlic powder in a mixing bowl.
  2. Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes.
  3. Place the kneaded dough into a greased bowl and cover it with plastic wrap.
  4. Allow it to rise in a warm place for about 60 minutes or until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  6. Punch the dough down gently and break it into 12 small pieces, shaping each into a ball.
  7. Mix melted butter and chopped parsley in a separate bowl.
  8. Dip each dough ball into the butter mixture, then place them in a greased baking dish.
  9. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the balls.
  10. Cover and let it rise for an additional 30 minutes.
  11. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

For a more intense garlic flavor, substitute garlic powder with minced fresh garlic. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
