Ingredients

  • 2 cups sourdough discard
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine the sourdough discard, flour, salt, sugar, and olive oil in a large bowl.
  2. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes.
  3. Place the dough back in the bowl and cover it with a damp towel for about an hour to rise.
  4. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle and brush with melted butter; sprinkle garlic powder, parsley, and cheese if using.
  6. Cut the dough into strips, stack them, and cut again into smaller pieces.
  7. Arrange the pieces in a greased baking dish and let it rise for another 20 minutes.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
