Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces elbow macaroni
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup cooked lobster meat, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (optional for topping)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Sprinkle in the flour, whisking constantly for around 1-2 minutes.
  3. Add the milk gradually, whisking until the mixture thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Stir in the cheddar and mozzarella cheeses until completely melted and smooth.
  5. Combine the cooked macaroni and chopped lobster into the cheese sauce, seasoning with salt and pepper.
  6. Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish, and if desired, sprinkle breadcrumbs on top.
  7. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes, until bubbly and golden.
  8. Let it cool for a few minutes, then garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

For a make-ahead option, combine the cheese sauce and pasta without baking, refrigerate overnight, and bake when ready. This dish can also be reheated in the oven with a splash of milk.
