- 8 ounces elbow macaroni
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup cooked lobster meat, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (optional for topping)
- 2 tablespoons chopped parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Sprinkle in the flour, whisking constantly for around 1-2 minutes.
- Add the milk gradually, whisking until the mixture thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in the cheddar and mozzarella cheeses until completely melted and smooth.
- Combine the cooked macaroni and chopped lobster into the cheese sauce, seasoning with salt and pepper.
- Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish, and if desired, sprinkle breadcrumbs on top.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes, until bubbly and golden.
- Let it cool for a few minutes, then garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
For a make-ahead option, combine the cheese sauce and pasta without baking, refrigerate overnight, and bake when ready. This dish can also be reheated in the oven with a splash of milk.
