Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Mix together the flour, instant yeast, salt, and sugar in a large bowl.
  2. Create a well in the center and add the warm water and olive oil.
  3. Mix until a shaggy dough begins to form.
  4. Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes.
  5. Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, turning it once to coat.
  6. Cover it with a kitchen towel and let it rise in a warm area for 1 to 2 hours.
  7. Punch down the dough gently to release the air.
  8. Shape it into a loaf and place it in a greased loaf pan, seam side down.
  9. Cover the pan and let the dough rise again for about 30 minutes.
  10. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) during the last few minutes of rising.
  11. Bake the bread for 30-35 minutes or until the crust turns golden brown.
  12. Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool before slicing.
