A delightful fusion of traditional baklava and rich cheesecake featuring crispy phyllo layers, creamy filling, and a sweet honey glaze.

- 16 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup Greek yogurt
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 8 oz phyllo pastry sheets
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup mixed nuts (walnuts, almonds, pistachios), chopped
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup water
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Beat the cream cheese and sugar until smooth.
- Add Greek yogurt, eggs, and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, mix chopped nuts with cinnamon.
- Layer one sheet of phyllo in a greased springform pan, brushing melted butter on top.
- Pour half of the cheesecake mixture over the phyllo layers.
- Sprinkle half of the nut mixture over the cheesecake.
- Add another layer of phyllo dough, brushing with butter.
- Repeat with the remaining cheesecake and nut mixtures, topping with another layer of phyllo.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes, until set.
- In a small saucepan, combine honey and water, and simmer until syrupy.
- Drizzle the honey syrup on top once the cheesecake is out of the oven.
- Let it cool before serving.
Notes
Ensure all ingredients are at room temperature for better mixing. Handle phyllo carefully to prevent tearing.
