Description

A rich cheesecake blending creamy flavors with crispy layers of phyllo dough, enhanced by honey and mixed nuts.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup phyllo dough, thawed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup chopped mixed nuts (walnuts, pistachios, almonds)
  • 1 cup honey
  • 16 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup sour cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine melted butter and phyllo dough in a mixing bowl, layering them in a greased springform pan.
  3. Layer 6-8 sheets of phyllo, brushing each with melted butter.
  4. Mix chopped nuts with half a cup of honey and sprinkle over phyllo layers.
  5. Whip together cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  6. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then fold in sour cream.
  7. Pour cream cheese mixture over phyllo and nut layers.
  8. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until set with a slight wobble in the center.
  9. Cool to room temperature, then chill in the fridge for several hours or overnight.

Notes

Make-ahead tips: Can be prepared a day in advance. Avoid overmixing to prevent cracks during baking.
