Description

Delightful grilled pineapple caramelized with brown sugar creates a sweet and smoky flavor that’s perfect for summer gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ripe pineapple
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat, allowing the grates to get nice and hot.
  2. Prepare the pineapple by peeling, coring, and slicing it into thick rings or wedges.
  3. Make the glaze by mixing together the brown sugar, melted butter, cinnamon (if using), and a pinch of salt.
  4. Coat the pineapple slices with the brown sugar mixture using a basting brush.
  5. Grill the pineapple slices for about 3-4 minutes per side, until grill marks appear and the sugar caramelizes.
  6. Serve warm, alone or topped with ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

You can prepare the brown sugar mixture in advance and refrigerate it. Substitute brown sugar with coconut sugar for a tropical twist.
