Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch cake pan.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until fluffy and light in color.
  3. Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the applesauce and vanilla extract.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  6. Fold the dry mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  9. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.
