A rich and indulgent pizza topped with savory short ribs and a creamy smoked gouda sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 lbs short ribs
- 1 lb pizza dough
- 2 cups shredded smoked gouda cheese
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh basil or parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- Season the short ribs with salt and pepper.
- Sear the ribs in a cast iron skillet until browned on all sides, then transfer to a slow cooker and add broth. Cook on low for 6-8 hours until tender.
- In a saucepan, sauté onions and garlic in butter until translucent. Add heavy cream and shredded gouda, stirring until smooth.
- Roll out the pizza dough and transfer to a preheated pizza stone or baking sheet.
- Spoon the gouda sauce over the dough, top with shredded short ribs, and add any additional toppings.
- Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C) and bake the pizza for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
- Allow to cool briefly, garnish with fresh basil or parsley, slice, and serve.
Notes
For best results, allow short ribs to rest before shredding. Consider making the short ribs ahead of time for quicker assembly.
