Description
Mix up Santa’s Vodka Refresher! A festive, fruity Christmas cocktail with cranberry & citrus. The perfect merry and bright holiday drink.
Ingredients
For the Cocktail:
-
2 oz (60 ml) High-Quality Vodka: A smooth, neutral vodka allows the other flavors to shine.
-
1.5 oz (45 ml) 100% Pomegranate Juice: This provides the beautiful red color and a tangy, antioxidant-rich base.
-
0.5 oz (15 ml) Fresh Lime Juice: Absolutely essential for bright, acidic balance.
-
0.5 oz (15 ml) Simple Syrup (adjust to taste): Start with this amount; you can add more if you prefer a sweeter drink.
-
2-3 oz (60-90 ml) Chilled Club Soda or Seltzer: For a light, effervescent finish.
For the Garnish:
-
1 fresh Rosemary Sprig
-
A few fresh Pomegranate Arils
-
Lime Wheel (optional)
Instructions
Step 1: Chill Your Glass
Begin by filling a highball or collins glass with ice to chill it while you prepare the drink. This ensures your cocktail stays refreshingly cold from the first sip to the last.
Step 2: The Shaken Base
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add the vodka, pomegranate juice, fresh lime juice, and simple syrup. Seal the shaker tightly and shake vigorously for 12-15 seconds. This chills and dilutes the mixture to the perfect level while thoroughly combining the flavors.
Step 3: Prepare the Garnish
Take the fresh rosemary sprig and gently slap it against your palm. This releases the essential oils and incredible aroma, which will perfume the drink as you sip.
Step 4: Assemble the Drink
Discard the ice from your chilled glass and fill it with fresh ice. Strain the shaken mixture from the shaker into the glass.
Step 5: The Bubbly Top-Off
Top the glass with the chilled club soda, pouring it gently down the side to preserve the bubbles. Give the drink one very gentle stir to integrate.
Step 6: The Final Festive Touch
Garnish the drink by placing the aromatic rosemary sprig directly into the glass. For an extra pop of color and flavor, sprinkle a few fresh pomegranate arils on top. You can also add a thin lime wheel to the rim for an additional citrus note.
Step 7: Serve Immediately
Serve right away with a straw, and encourage your guests to inhale the wonderful rosemary aroma as they take their first sip.
