Description

A comforting baked dish featuring layers of tender pierogis, savory kielbasa, and melted cheese, perfect for family gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 package frozen pierogis
  • 1 pound kielbasa sausage, sliced
  • 2 cups shredded cheese
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: sour cream for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté the onion until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the sliced kielbasa and cook until browned and crisp, about 7-10 minutes.
  4. Layer the frozen pierogis in a baking dish.
  5. Spoon the kielbasa and onion mixture over the pierogis.
  6. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
  7. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  8. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  9. Serve hot, optionally garnished with sour cream.
