Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound Ground Turkey
- 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup Finely chopped Onion
- 1 minced Garlic clove
- 1 tablespoon Fresh oregano
- 1 tablespoon Chopped parsley
- 1 tablespoon Chopped mint
- 1 Egg
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 medium Cucumber (for tzatziki)
- 1 cup Greek yogurt (for tzatziki)
- 1 minced Garlic clove (for tzatziki)
- 1 tablespoon Chopped fresh dill (for tzatziki)
- Squeeze of Lemon juice (for tzatziki)
Instructions
- Prepare the tzatziki: Grate the cucumber and sprinkle with salt. Let sit for 10 minutes, then squeeze out excess liquid. In a bowl, combine cucumber with Greek yogurt, minced garlic, dill, and lemon juice. Mix well and set aside in the fridge to chill.
- Mix the meatball ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine ground turkey, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, minced garlic, oregano, parsley, mint, and egg. Season with salt and pepper.
- Form the meatballs: Roll the mixture into 1-inch meatballs with damp hands and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake the meatballs: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and cooked through, turning halfway.
- Serve: Allow to cool slightly before serving with tzatziki and garnish with extra herbs if desired.
Notes
Chilling the meat mixture helps hold its shape during cooking. You can customize the meatballs by adding olives or sun-dried tomatoes.
