Description

A comforting dish of tender meatballs in a rich and creamy sauce, perfect for a cozy dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 lb ground pork
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, milk, onion, egg, salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Mix until well combined.
  2. Form the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
  3. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides.
  4. Remove the meatballs from the skillet and set aside.
  5. In the same skillet, add flour and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  6. Gradually whisk in beef broth, followed by heavy cream, soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a simmer.
  7. Add the meatballs back to the skillet and cook for an additional 10-15 minutes, until the meatballs are cooked through and the sauce has thickened.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

  • Serve with mashed potatoes or egg noodles for a complete meal.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • For a lighter version, use ground turkey instead of beef and pork.
