Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 lb ground pork
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, milk, onion, egg, salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Mix until well combined.
- Form the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
- In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides.
- Remove the meatballs from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add flour and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
- Gradually whisk in beef broth, followed by heavy cream, soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a simmer.
- Add the meatballs back to the skillet and cook for an additional 10-15 minutes, until the meatballs are cooked through and the sauce has thickened.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.
Notes
- Serve with mashed potatoes or egg noodles for a complete meal.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- For a lighter version, use ground turkey instead of beef and pork.
