Description
A delightful fusion of classic cheesesteak flavors and fresh cheese tortellini in a creamy provolone sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package (12 oz) cheese tortellini
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 1 pound beef steak, cubed
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
Instructions
- Cook the Tortellini: Boil water in a large pot, add a pinch of salt, and cook the cheese tortellini according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
- Sauté the Onions: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and sauté them until they turn golden brown, about 8-10 minutes.
- Cook the Beef: Increase the heat to medium-high and add the cubed beef steak to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper, cooking until browned, around 5-7 minutes.
- Simmer the Sauce: Stir in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a simmer for 5 minutes.
- Combine with Tortellini: Reduce heat to low and add the drained tortellini. Toss to coat everything in the sauce.
- Melt the Cheese: Sprinkle shredded provolone cheese on top. Cover and let melt for 3-5 minutes.
- Serve: Once melted and heated through, serve hot, garnishing with extra cheese if desired.
Notes
Feel free to customize with additional veggies or switch up the pasta type. Reheat gently with a splash of broth if needed.
