- 4 cups frozen shredded hash browns, thawed
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup cooked and crumbled breakfast sausage or bacon (optional)
- 1/2 cup diced bell pepper
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions
- 4 large eggs
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Lightly grease your 12-inch ovenproof skillet or pizza pan.
- Combine in a mixing bowl the thawed and dried hash browns, melted butter, salt, and black pepper until well-combined.
- Create the crust by pressing the hash brown mixture firmly into the prepared pan.
- Bake the crust in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes until golden-brown.
- Layer the baked crust with shredded cheddar cheese, crumbled sausage or bacon, bell pepper, and green onions.
- Make wells for eggs using a spoon.
- Crack one egg into each well and sprinkle with paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Bake again for an additional 10 to 12 minutes, until egg whites are set and yolks reach desired consistency.
- Cool for about three minutes before slicing and serving warm.
Notes
For a vegetarian option, skip the sausage or bacon. You can customize toppings based on preferences.
