Description

A tantalizing dish that combines the sweetness of honey with the sharpness of garlic and the kick of black pepper, creating a flavorful stir-fry experience.


Ingredients

  • 1 Onion, diced
  • 1 Bell pepper, sliced
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 lb Chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp Honey
  • 2 tsp Ground black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in your wok or skillet on high. When shimmering, add the chicken pieces, spreading them out. Allow them to brown for about 5-7 minutes until they develop a golden crust; then set them aside.
  2. Toss in diced onion, sliced bell pepper, and minced garlic. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes, or until the vegetables soften and turn fragrant.
  3. Combine the browned chicken back to the pan. Pour in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, honey, ground black pepper, and salt. Stir everything together so the chicken gets thoroughly coated in the luscious sauce.
  4. Lower the heat and let it simmer for 5 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken and the flavors to marry.
  5. Dish out the black pepper chicken over fluffy rice or alongside steamed veggies, and enjoy.

Notes

You can prepare chicken and vegetables ahead of time for quicker cooking. Customize by adding different veggies.
